0n 30 August from 10am to 4 pm Members and friends visited Lois and Sue’s beautiful gardens with the advantage of being next door to each other. We visited Sue’s garden first with stunning ornamental pear trees just coming into blossom putting on a show in the morning sunshine. Lots of agapanthus lining the pathways and driveway. A wonderful area dedicated to a Japanese theme with plants and statues. Then you walk out the back you see a wonderful vista down the paddock and a lovely paved courtyard area with lots of seating, bbq and pizza oven and fire pit, and a delightful fernery. The wistaria growing on the arbor will be stunning in a few weeks. Sue demonstrated her worm farm compost which goes on the vegetable garden. Thankyou Sue. Then it was over to Lois’s place with her eclectic mix of bulbs, flowers, roses, statues, rusty art, trees and succulents. Her hubby Noel’s vegetable patch, chooks and many fruit and citrus trees. Under the pergola is wonderful ferns, delicate cyclaman and many old tricycles and bikes adding a personal touch. With lots of tables and chairs for her ever growing family that visit, we sat and had a cuppa and lovely spread of cakes and bikkies. Thankyou Lois. Both well loved gardens.
